The United States spends more than $30 billion a year to maintain a nuclear arsenal that must never used, while one in thirty children in the United States is homeless. This year’s Walk for a New Spring, initiated by Nipponzan Myohoji, will conclude at the United Nations on April 26. The following day, the UN’s 2015 Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty Convention meets to continue talks about banning and eliminating more than 17,000 nuclear warheads worldwide.
