Eye in the Sky is a smart politically-charged dramatic/thriller that captures an ethical dilemma at the heart of drone warfare. The ensemble scene is set in two command centers, one in England, the other in the U.S., where “pilots” [drone operators] guide war drones by remote control, attacking suspected terrorists thousands of miles away.
Oscar winner, Helen Mirren, and Alan Rickman are excellent as British military officers trying to eliminate terrorists. Aaron Paul plays the U.S. drone pilot assigned to carry out the heart wrenching killing mission.
The film is a disturbing peek behind the curtain that separates the public from the reality of today’s warfare. You, the viewer, is left wondering what you would do if you were there—and how you would live with it for the rest of your life.
