June 22 , 2018, President Donald Trump announced that he was directing the Pentagon to create a new “Space Force” as an separate military branch aimed at ensuring U.S. war-fighting supremacy in space. The move still requires Congressional approval.

The prospect of Earth being ruled from space, with war below, is no longer science fiction. The dream of the original “Dr. Strangelove”, Wernher von Braun (from Nazi rocket-scientist to NASA director), has survived every U.S. administration since World War II and continues along with the Military-Industrial companies that profit at the expense of human needs on earth and world peace.
A joint Canadian-French production, the 2010 film is one of the truly important films about space militarization, what it means, and how it impacts everyone on earth. The 85 minute feature documentary was written and directed by Denis Delestrac, and featuring interviews with Noam Chomsky, Craig Eisendrath, Phila resident and former diplomat at the US State Department, Tim Weiner of The New York Times, and numerous others on both sides of the issue.
About our featured speaker…Will Griffin is a former U.S. Army Paratrooper and veteran of the Iraq (2007) and Afghanistan (2009) wars. Currently a Mt. Airy/Phila. resident, He is the founder and director of The Peace Report, creating antiwar multimedia content to educate the public on the impacts of militarism. Will serves on the board of directors of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space. In 2017, he served on the national board of directors of Veterans For Peace.
