Aung San Suu Kyi (portrayed by Michelle Yeoh), the woman at the core of Myanmar democracy movement, and her husband Michael Aris, endure long separations under a vicious regime. The Lady was written by Rebecca Frayn, who interviewed key figures among Aung San Suu Kyi’s compatriots, reconstructing the story of Burma’s national heroine.
