Listening to Dr. Martin Luther King at Rep. Meehan’s office in Springfield, Delco
April 1, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
“Listening to Dr. Martin Luther King”
Sat., April 1, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
in front of the district office of Rep. Patrick Meehan (R, PA, CD 7),
940 West Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064
The scourge of U.S. wars around the world. Daily drone strikes directed from remote command centers like the one at Horsham Air Guard station, which is there because of Rep. Meehan’s backing. The diseases of poverty, racism, sexism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia, made worse by Donald Trump. The reality of climate change and the threat of nuclear war.
For some or all the time, stand with us (or sit, bring a fold up chair) for justice and peace in front of Rep. Meehan’s office (at the well traveled intersection of State & Sproul Road, parking at the rear of his office). Honor the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence” speech, April 4th, 1967 speech* at Riverside Church in NYC. [*Exactly one year after the speech, April 4, 1968, Dr. King was shot down in Memphis, TN while supporting striking sanitation workers

Stand against the evil triplets of American society: “…racism, materialism, and militarism.” Listen to the loud speaker broadcast of the Riverside Church speech fifty years ago. There will be large banners and signs in memory Dr. King’s words and eternal message of hope.
