Throughout the 1990’s, in response to the use of AEGIS warships and cruise missile attacks during the Gulf War and continuing through the Post 9/11 (2001) wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Brandywine Peace Community protested at the General Electric (GE) and subsequently, beginning in 1993, the Lockheed Martin AEGIS naval warship complex in Moorestown, NJ., which includes the U.S. Navy AEGIS testing and training in Moorestown, NJ. The nonviolent resistance group’s actions involved repeated acts of nonviolent civil disobedience, with the repeated arrests and jailing of its members and supporters. See video below.
