Stand with others who are standing with someone who acted in conscience to stop drone war killing by the U.S. around the world.

DANIEL HALE, is a U.S. Air Force veteran who from 2009 to 2013, participated in the U.S. drone war program, working with both the National Security Agency and the Joint Special Operations Task Force at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Daniel Hale’s participation in secret U.S.  drone war operations included helping select targets that led to killing unarmed, innocent civilians.
Right now, Daniel Hale sits in conditions of solitary confinement at the Adult Detention Center in Alexandria,VA. Tomorrow, July 27, Daniel faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment at his Federal Court sentencing for publicly disclosing classified documents about the U.S. military’s drone war and assassination operations.
What Daniel did was state the truth about what is happening from the drone war remote command center at the Horsham Air Guard Station and other drone war centers across the U.S. and around the world.
U.S. troops are gone from Afghanistan, but U.S. drone attacks in Afghanistan continue.
Stand with people around the country who are supporting freedom for Daniel Hale and an end to U.S drone war operations.

Update on U.S. Drone Strikes in Afghanistan.

U.S. troops may be gone from Afghanistan, but
U.S. drone attacks will continue Against Afghanis

U.S. AIR ATTACKS ON TALIBAN, LIKELY DRONE DEPENDENT, TO CONTINUE UNTIL AT LEAST AUG. 31. – HANCOCK AIR BASE HISTORICALLY HAS GUIDED DRONE ATTACKS ON AFGHANS

Here are links to the latest reports on the growing military momentum of the Taliban and references to the U.S. “Over the Horizon” air war against the Taliban, that the U.S. officials want to downplay. The NYT report says that these attacks will continue until August 31, but comments of Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin are vague on this point.

Previous reporting suggests that these air attacks are heavily dependent on the use of drones for direct attacks and for assisting in targeting for manned aircraft.

Here are a variety of links that are well-worth reading in detail.  Time consuming but it gives an insight into how little the U.S. wants to reveal about these air attacks, which seem futile, face-saving gestures by the U.S. with no regard for the numbers of Afghans who will be killed between now and August 31.

The most clear-cut description of what the U.S. is doing comes in this exchange between a reporter and Pentagon press secretary John Kirby, July 6, 2021:

Q: Hi.  The reports from the ground in Afghanistan suggest the Taliban continue to make progress and take over more districts. And the Afghan military said they are preparing a counter strike or a movement to — to counter that.

My question is sort of in-between Bagram and the longer-term. Is what is the Defense Department doing in the next few weeks, the next few months specifically to help the Afghan military conduct their — their fight against the Taliban?

  1. KIRBY: What I would tell you is, as I mentioned on Friday, General Miller still has all the existing authorities he had before in terms of coming to the assistance and the defense of Afghan National Security Defense Forces.

When he transfers that command authority over in some days time to General McKenzie, General McKenzie will possess all those same authorities as we go ahead and complete the drawdown over the summer.  So, we — we still have the authority to assist the Afghans in the field if they need it.

Q: Can you give some specific examples in how that might be conducted with —

  1. KIRBY: I think the way you see it — the way you’ve seen it being conducted in the past, through — through airstrikes.
